Vicente Soto designer of the Eboli chair for Capdell, Spain
A natural born Designer, whose skills have developed not in stages, but rather, in a continuous manner.
This self-taught Spanish designer has constantly sought the perfect balance between beauty and function. This is nowhere more visible than in his creations for the contemporary design furniture company, Capdell, where he has been producing the most striking, functional designs, since 1989.
Creator of collections which are the very personification of balance and which are the results of problem solving and which provide solutions to one of the most evident trends in modern design: the best possible use of space.
The functionality and globalisation of taste are among the virtues embodied in Vicente Soto’s creations for Capdell. Nevertheless, the essence of his designs is held in the simplicity with which each piece in conceived.
Among the creations produced by this designer for the furniture company, special mention goes to the polypropylene chair collections, Regata and Novecento and the combination of materials seen in Hit, Kalida, Flick, Hit and new Eboli.
His latest contribution to the company is the newly designed foldable table in wood and metal: Matrix. Options which provide even greater opportunities for Capdell to decorate the most exclusive spaces around.
CAPDELL. Eboli
The elegance evoked in this design by Vicente Soto is continued in its stool and bench versions. It maintains the characteristic profiles of the 18th century, dispensing with the ornamentation typical of the era and thus exalting the beauty of the forms, straight and curved lines.
Available in chair, armchair, bench, stool, and now puff. Its smooth wooden back and upholstered seat offer comfort and elegance, without loosing sight of practical factors such as durability, mobility or stacking.

ZBOX for Bellini by Stanley Jay Friedman
For over 25 years Stanley Jay Friedman has designed clean, modern furniture for progressive people. It’s a passion driven by his enthusiasm for experimentaltion and thrill with the evolution of design. His barrier-breaking work has earned prominent awards and is esteemed by legions of fellow designers and architects. But it’s the average American consumer, not yet comfortable with sleek, modern pieces that Friedman’s trying to win over, and with clean designs offering beauty, function and comfort, he’s well on his way.
Friedman’s latest design, the ZBOX, he says “The inspiration for Zbox seat came from a long ago objective of mine to design a chair in a box format. The challenge was more than just the aesthetic, it was to make this thing comfortable. Of coarse, my other criteria is always “Simplicity”.
The box seat invites the sitter to lean back in the supportive surround, a perfect position, for sipping cocktails with friends.

Baccarat “Crystal Candy Set” by Jaime Hayon

In Jaime, you can almost hear the word “gem.” And that’s a good way to characterize artist and designer Jaime Hayon. Half-conquistador, half-imp, this adventurer of design embraces life with an extraordinary creative zest, an immediate empathy for his nearest and dearest, and an infectious vitality. Skipping from one language to another in a heartbeat, he simultaneously chats in English as well as French, Italian and Spanish, all with a singular nonchalance and ease.

Elizabetha a versatile chair.
The chair lounge or descalzadora, is some centimeters lower than Elizabetha, and with its curved
arms, provides a great sensation of comfort. It has been designed with both arms alike, and it
also has the special option of just one arm chair.

BMW GINA Light Visionary Model Concept Car
BMW GINA Light Visionary Model Concept car — by Material ConneXion

At first, the idea of a fabric-skinned car seemed intriguing yet impossible to former BMW Design Director Chris Bangle. But after researching highstrength and tear-resistant textiles at Material ConneXion’s Library in New York, he and his team decided to pursue the concept further. Their efforts led to the “GINA” – a visionary shape-shifting sports car made from polyurethane-coated Lycra stretched over a wire aluminum frame. While only a concept car, the GINA’s innovative design is already inspiring a new wave of sleek, lightweight, and fuel-efficient automobiles.
